2022 USA Pickleball Great Lakes Diamond Regional
We are excited to welcome you to the 2022 USA Pickleball Great Lakes Diamond Regional Championship! Please see below for registration details, as well as information about the new format of regional tournaments as part of the USAP Diamond Amateur Championship series. Registration Information
REGISTRATION IS NOW CLOSED AS OF MAY 16, 2022! Players in the Great Lakes Region (Indiana, Ohio, Michigan) had the opportunity to preregister for the tournament starting at 12:01am on February 15 and continuing through 11:59pm on February 16. If you are a USA Pickleball member in this region, you received a preregistration link via email by February 13.
Tournament Fees: $115 - Includes registration for up to 3 different events (singles, gender doubles, and mixed doubles) and all referee and venue costs.
Preregistration: February 15 at 12:00am thru Feb 16 at 11:59pm
Open to USA Pickleball members in the Great Lakes Region only (Indiana, Ohio, Michigan). USAP members in this region will receive an invitation-only preregistration link via email by Feb 13.
Open Registration: February 21 (7PM)
Registration Deadline: May 15
Cancelation Deadline: May 15
How to Register (NOW CLOSED):
When it's your time to register. Register online here at pickleballtournaments.com. Please note that your slot in an event is not secure until you (and your partner) have both registered and paid tournament fees.
Other Requirements:
All players will register to a waitlist. Payment is required at time of registration. When both players on a team have registered and paid tournament fees, the team will be moved off the waitlist and into an event, provided space is available. All players must have a USA Pickleball membership that is valid through June 20, 2022. If you are not a USAP member, or if your membership will expire before June 20, please update your membership at usapickleball.org/memberships ASAP.
SPECIAL JUNIOR EVENTS: Junior events will be offered for players ages 8-18. Cost is $50. Registration will be handled separately (not via the PT website). Please notify Dawn Horan at glrhoran@gmail.com if you are interested in this option.
New Diamond Series Regional Championship Format
There are several important changes to the regional tournament structure in 2022:

The 12 Regional Championships will culminate in the new Diamond Amateur Championship taking place December 1-7 at Pictona in Holly Hill, FL. Gold Medalists from the Diamond Amateur Championship will earn preregistration (Golden Tickets) to the following year’s National Championships in Indian Wells.

Gold and Silver Medalists from the Regional tournaments will earn preregistration into the Diamond Amateur Championship at Pictona. All other participants from the Regional Tournaments will be eligible for the lottery into the Diamond Amateur Championship.

Gold, Silver and Bronze Medalists from Regional tournaments will be entered into the lottery for the 2022 National Championships in Indian Wells.

There will be no preregistration (Golden Tickets) from the 2022 Regional tournaments to the 2022 National Championships in Indian Wells.
Looking ahead to the 2023 season, the following qualifying procedures for the National Championships in Indian Wells will be added:

Gold Medalists from the 2022 Diamond Amateur Championship at Pictona will receive preregistration (Golden Tickets) into the 2023 National Championships in Indian Wells.

Silver and Bronze Medalists from the 2022 Diamond Amateur Championship at Pictona will be eligible for Phase 1 of the 2023 National Championships lottery. If openings remain after Phase 1, all Medalists from the 2023 Regional tournaments will be eligible for Phase 2 of the lottery.
